Our Weighted Products
Hand-made by stitches4autism, our vests are
used in the treatment of Autism/PDD, ADHD and Asperger's therapy. They provide a
calming, relaxing deep-pressure input which helps the child to focus and stay on
task for longer periods of time.
Please contact your OT for the desired amount of
weight and time to wear the vest. They are perfect for TV watching time or
just snuggling! We want these much needed vests to be affordable to all.
Youth Vests
These vests shown are a youth size 5 ~ measures 14" across the front and
back, 12" shoulder to waist with four 4"x6" pockets sewed on the inside
of the vest ~ 2 on the back, 1 on each side of the front, the vest
features a Velcro closing on the front. We offer vests in a solid green,
blue or pink
with matching gingham inside. We also offer colorful and bright colors
referred to neutral. They feature a novelty print. The pockets are muslin and will
hold snack sized Ziplocs. We are not including the weights and/or weight
bags that fit into the sewed in pockets.
For our child we use plastic
zip lock baggies. We use either rice, beans, clay, stones or anything to
achieve the weight needed. We are
using a 100% non-allergenic cotton or fleece material ~ soft and warm. WE HAVE
OTHER COLORS AVAILABLE. And patterns to make in sizes youth 3 to 12. Please allow 2-3 weeks delivery.
