TRUE STORY: In a small southern NH town, a child with autism took his dog for a walk on a cool misty afternoon. He was dressed in a tee shirt and shorts. During the course of his travels, he got turned around and lost. After desperately searching the house and yard, his mother called the town police. Immediately they went into action calling on surrounding towns to help locate this young child with his dog. Giving her direct eye contact, no doubt hearing her reassuring voice, he immediately took the blanket, got into the cruiser along with his dog and was very successfully transitioned.
